News and events

Junior Choir  Today the junior choir will receive their surplices to mark the end of their probation and becoming full members of the choir.  We welcome Evie George, Mary and Lucy Pitts, Phoebe Rawlinson, Megan and Lucy Turner and Emilia Voisin, and wish them continued joy as they progress through the ‘Voices for Life’ singers programme.

Electoral Roll Revision  The Church’s Electoral Roll is being revised.  If you would like your name added to the Roll, please complete one of the forms by the North door and pass it to me via the ‘B’ pigeon hole.  The deadline is Sunday 25 March.  Also, please let me know of any amendments to the existing roll. Palm Sunday Cream Tea for our Church Family  in the Hall next Sunday.  We are not aiming to raise money and this is purely an enjoyable social occasion – do come along between 3.00 and 5.00pm.

Easter Services   Cards are available to be delivered to our neighbours in the Parish – please help if you are able.

At the Annual Meeting on 18 April, we elect new members of the Church Council.  If interested in standing, please learn more from Marjorie Kipling (secretary), the Rector or another existing PCC member. 

The 6th Lent Lunch on the 23rd March will be in the Parish Hall at 12.30pm in aid of the Community of the Sisters of the Church, founded in 1870, which continues to exercise outreach by means of prayer and spiritual direction, worship and teaching in their wider community.

Churchyard and Hall field clean-up – 24th March, 9.00-11.30am.  Please make a note in your diary.   Please bring your own tools, especially rakes, but bin bags for rubbish provided!  Any questions to Sue Douthwaite.

‘Hollybank Fields’ Wednesday, 21st March 5.30 - 8.30pm  at Emsworth Community Centre  Land and Partners are holding an exhibition to provide an opportunity for members of the public to view their proposals to build 260 new homes and public open space north of Long Copse Lane, Emsworth.

60th Anniversary of Christian Aid Week House to House – May 13- 19 Collectors Needed  The parish will be holding its annual Christian Aid House to House collection as usual.  This year is special as Christian Aid is celebrating its 60th Anniversary of the running of the week, which started in 1957.  We need people to join the very loyal group of Westbourne collectors. Charity Quiz Night - get your tickets for a fun-packed evening on Saturday 21 April 2018 at 7.00pm in Westbourne Parish Hall.  Buffet supper and a soft drink included.  Contact Angie on 377825 for tickets.
