Reverse Advent Calendar
Please have a look at the information on this initiative that is in Church. There are collecting boxes in Church and in the Hall (inside the main door and another (for when there is no access because of the Nursery School) inside the double blue doors). Do try to take part if you can. Many thanks. (Urgently needed items locally: Sponge puddings, Jam, tinned potatoes, tinned meat, Smash, rice pudding, custard, coffee, UHT milk, UHT fruit juice, toiletries, household items.  They have plenty tea, pasta, baked beans and soup!)

Night Prayer in Advent
On Wednesday evenings, 13 and 20 December, we have a short service of Night Prayer (sometimes called Compline) with a reflective address. 8.30pm, for about 30 minutes. Do make this part of your Advent devotions.

Revd Frank Hillebrand  We are delighted that Frank now has Permission to Officiate in our Parish once again, and will be conducting the Wednesday morning communion on 13 December.

Christmas Fair 2017
Many thanks for the team effort at the Christmas Fair, a record £1,649 was raised and probably more than 130 people attended.  Well done to all. Jane S & Amy T.

A Thank You
Thank you so much to all those who signed the farewell card to us. Needless to say we are very sad to be leaving Westbourne. 43 years is a long time but we shall not be far away and, with family and friends there, we hope to be frequent visitors. Liz and Chris Alder

The beginning of Advent saw the beginning of the Diocesan Year of Prayer
Why not make this a year in which you find a greater place for prayer in your life?  Ideas include, i)  saying the Lord's Prayer each day;  ii)  joining us for Morning Prayer in St John's at 8.30am, once each week;  iii)  lighting a candle at a set time each day and offering a few minutes of silence and intercession; a scheme could be,  Mon - parts of the world in hunger, war or need; Tues - those we know who are unwell, or sad; Wed - our protection of the earth & wise use of the world's resources; Thurs - your family, and those people closest to you;  Fri  -  your own 'walk with God';   Sat - Westbourne, its surrounding area, and our churches.

Drop In
Remember  the Drop In Christmas Tea on the 18th December starting at 2.30pm. Please come along if you can and ask friends and neighbours too. Andrew Turner

Christmas Lunch - Sunday 17 December, 12.30pm, Parish Hall. Your last chance to get your ticket or this church family event & fundraiser, speak to Isobel, Angie or Abha. Menu on the church noticeboard.
