News and events

Thursday 28 December 2017 10.00am Drop In at the Parish Hall

Revd Andrew and Karen Doye thank everyone for their kind greetings this Christmas and wish you in turn all joy and peace.

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of this Autumn's Appeal to support works of restoration at Woodmancote Church.  We had set a target of £14,000.  Following an energetic campaign of events, the support of the PCC, and generous individual contributions from churchgoers and villagers throughout the parish, we have achieved a total of £21,500.  This will allow us to pursue works in 2018, inside and outside, to restore the Church to its former glories.   Well done!

Drop In Christmas tea - thank you so much to everyone who came to the tea.  It was a lovely afternoon, much enjoyed by all.

The Reverse Advent Calendar has been very successful and we have taken boxes to both Stonepillow and the Trussel Trust food bank in Chichester.  Thank you to all who have taken part - you have been amazingly supportive. Hopefully we can do the same next year.

Many thanks to everyone, helpers and supporters for the Christmas Lunch – this enjoyable event raised some £700.

The collection at the service of Nine Lessons and Carols will for Christian Aid.  This year the UK Government will double any donations.  With your help Christian Aid will do everything they can to ensure every family has enough to eat at Christmas, and long into the future.  Please help them. If you wish to make a donation, but will not be attending the Service of Lessons and Carols, Christian Aid Envelopes are available at the side doors.

Please check the Lost Property shelf in the Welcome Area at St. John's and reclaim your mislaid items- now we have lady’s gloves and a hearing aid, etc.

"Ivor Novello - Man of the Theatre", presented by David Nason, Saturday, 3 February 2018 7pm, at Hollybank House. Sign notice in the Welcome Area to reserve tickets that will be delivered at Church Coffee, after the 9.30 services on Sundays in January. Also available from WFW Art & Framing, Wed - Fri 10-5.0pm, Sat 9-11am. Book soon, only 45 seats!

Admission to Communion?  - Sat 6 January 2018 10.30am. An open meeting in church for 45 minutes intended for parents who might wish their children to begin to receive communion (before they are confirmed).  Bring your questions.  We’ll explore the issues and the options, and, for those proceeding, there will be a short course of preparation for the children in the spring term.  Children must be in year 3 or above.  Would parents please let Andrew Doye know of their interest in advance.
