Sunday 20 May 2018 - Bishop of Lewes & Thy Kingdom Come Beacon event, Chichester Cathedral, 7pm. Bishop Richard and Archdeacon of Horsham, Fiona Windsor, welcome you to an evening of music and worship. At the event, Bishop Richard will lead a procession of the pilgrimage candles: ‘flames’ that will have been collected at each stop along the route he is taking on his prayer pilgrimage to Chichester Cathedral ahead of Pentecost. [Regrettably, this major event clashes with our own organ recital that same evening].
Friday 25 May 2018 - 7.30pm. What was it like growing up in the world's first atheist state; seeing the fall of communism; seeing the once tightly controlled borders opening up to other nations, and letting in western ideas and all forms of religion? What was it like to live through a time of anarchy, and what’s it like to be a Christian in Albania in 2018? Interested? Then come and meet an Albanian couple who have experienced these things and now lead a church in Memaliaj Albania. That's not all:- they have a special link to St John's Church, Westbourne.
Saturday 2 June 2018 - ‘Be Still': Fr Toby Boutle is the speaker .at a prayer and study day in St George's Church, Whyke PO19 7AD. He will consider 'Christ and Contemplation'. Saturday 9 June 2018 - Pilgrimage to Chichester Cathedral. We are invited, with other parishes to travel to the Cathedral for a Pilgrimage Service at 12 noon (led by the bishops) and then a bring-and-share lunch (drinks provided). We hope many will come. The choices are to walk along the canal path from Hunston, beginning at 1030, with prayer stations along the way; or to assemble in the Bishops Gardens from, say, 1130, for the last short leg. We need you to sign up in church so that we can share transport. Revd Andrew Doye.
Saturday 16 June 2018 - ARCHDEACON'S FAREWELL 3pm - Archdeacon Douglas McKittrick retires at the end of June, and this is an opportunity for all to join him at Chichester Cathedral for the Eucharist on the day on which we celebrate St Richard of Chichester. If wishing to come, to the service and the refreshments that follow, please let Andrew know by this Friday (18 May 2018).
Stone Pillow welcomed the 7 bags of produce delivered to the Hub at Crane Street last week. They were delighted with the coffee, tea and biscuits which were very popular with those using the centre on that day. THANK YOU to all of you who made very kind donations.
Arts Trail - It was so lovely to see so many church friends during the Emsworth Art Trail. As well as enjoying your company and exhibiting our art, Stuart T and I were delighted to donate £1000 to the charity TLC, Tabora League for Children. This included the most generous donations from visitors and our profits from sales. Thank you so much. Robina R.
