News and Events

Christian Aid Chilli Supper - The evening raised more than £800 from ticket sales and raffle, so with Gift Aid that is more than £1,000 for Christian Aid. The funds will go towards maternity support in Sierra Leone - training for midwives, improving health clinics and supporting mothers. The country presently has the lowest child and mother survival rate in childbirth. Our efforts will help to make the difference between life and death for mothers.

Wildlife Survey - Thank you to all those who supported the evening and gave generously. Westbourne Wildlife Survey You will have seen posters advertising this request for input from residents. If it is too daunting to provide your results by means of App or electronically, please be aware that an alternative is to use forms which are available at the Westbourne Café (not at the Village Pharmacy).

Revd John Pilkington, RIP - It is with great sadness we learned of John’s death on 28 April 2019. His funeral will be at St James's Church, Emsworth at 11am on Tuesday 21 May 2019. All who are thankful for his ministry here, and beyond, are welcome to attend.

Cake Tasting Morning - we will again be holding a cake tasting coffee/tea morning in the Parish Hall on Saturday 25 May 2019, 10am - 12noon. Please let me know if you are able to join in this fund raising event by making a cake and providing the recipe. Thank you. Lynda M (contacts on pew sheet in paper). Posters are available to advertise the event - please take one if you have a convenient window.

Personal Rule of Life

We have each been invited to shape a personal Rule of Life (using the blue cards in the churches). In Advent, we considered a resolution as to how/when we would pray. At Christmas, we added ways we would be generous (a ‘gift to the world’). In Lent, we committed to our better use of  time (including attention to other people), and the reduction of waste. In Eastertide, propose ways that you will celebrate, notably within your Christian faith: give expression to ‘the wellbeing that rejoices’.
