New Home Group Invitation - This new group will meet initially for 4 sessions on THURSDAY evenings from 7.30 - 9.30pm at The Rectory on 3, 10, 24 and 31 October. The format is a short video by Rob Bell with guided discussion about Christian living based on the film. If you are interested in joining the group please email Karen Doye.

Advance Notices:

- Next Westbourne dinner lecture:  Saturday 26 October 2019 in the Parish Hall, featuring international author Kate Mosse. The evening begins with a two-course supper at 7.00pm. Tickets at £12.50 can be obtained from Rona Musker or Susie D (numbers in pew sheet in Church) from 29 September 2019. Book early to be sure of your place.  Proceeds to the churches of St John the Baptist and Woodmancote.

Deanery Prayer Gatherings – next 2 dates:  Saturday 21 September 2019 at 9.30am in St John the Baptist Westbourne and Thursday 3 October 2019 at 12noon at Bosham Church.

Two corrections to the Calendar issued last week in the pew sheet: The First Friday lunch in November will be on Friday 1 and the Christmas Fair will be on Saturday 7 December 2019.

Southern Harbours Keswick offer an in-depth series of Bible Talks at Emsworth Baptist Church, 19-21 Sept 2019. Details from the Pastor at the Baptist Church.

Next Deanery Evensong is scheduled for our parish church, Westbourne, on Sunday 29 September 2019 at 6pm.  The visiting preacher will be Canon Angela Tilby.

Calendar of Events in September, October and November available in the welcome area at St John the Baptist.  This includes information known at present.

Sunday, 3 November  Friends’ and Relatives’ Remembrance Service at 3.00pm.  If you have a loved one who has died in 2018 or 2019 and whose name we might read in the course of this service, please have a word with the Rector.

Lee Abbey, Devon  The new programme of Holidays, Retreats, Conferences and Weekends entitled “Come to Life” is available in the welcome area at St John the Baptist Church.  Jesus replied to John the Baptist’s disciples “Come and see” and this changed their lives.  The organisers at Lee Abbey hope this new programme will offer something to change your life.  It is said to be “A beautiful place where you meet God”.
