The service will be led by Martin, with the help of many children all coordinated by Katie Elliott-Smith. The Bible readings are from the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 3, verses 12-19 and Luke, Chapter 24: verses 36b - 48.  Our music has been played and recorded by Stewart Taylor.

The Special Prayer for the Third Sunday of Easter

Almighty Father,

who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples

with the sight of the risen Lord:

give us such knowledge of his presence with us,

that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life

and serve you continually in righteousness and truth;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.  Amen

For our prayers (please contact the Churchwardens to add names):

  • For the life of Prince Philip, for the love he received and showed among us
  • For all who mourn Prince Philip’s death, the members of the Royal Family, this Nation and all the Nations of the Commonwealth
  • For the needs of the world, especially at this time of global pandemic;
  • For research workers, scientists and medical personnel who are working to protect us, provide adequate testing, and to develop, deliver and administer vaccines;
  • For those who are particularly vulnerable to this virus;
  • For all who have been and continue to be affected by the pandemic
  • For those who are isolated and anxious;
  • For those who are hungry and homeless;
  • For Elizabeth our Queen and all set in authority under her; and for all citizens that we might work together for the common good;
  • For the whole church: that God may accomplish God's work in and through us for the sake of the world;
  • For all those known to us who are unwell: that God will bring them healing and wholeness;
  • For the families of those who have died; and for the lives of those whose anniversary falls at this time;
  • For Andrew

If there are causes or people that you wish to bring to the attention of the Church and its praying community, please contact the Wardens, whose details are below.

Online Easter show - congratulations to everyone who won a prize in the Easter On Line Show and a big ‘thank you’ to Sarah Pitts for organising the show. Sarah clearly put a lot of effort into it. The results are on the website in the Events section.

Bible Reading Fellowship notes Barbara M has a few spare (and free!) copies of the upcoming 'New Daylight' booklet for May-August 2021. She will leave them by the pigeon holes at the North door.  If anyone would like one, please help yourself!  This is an opportunity to use a sample if you are not yet familiar with the booklets.

Ride & Stride: 11 September 2021
The 2021 Sussex Ride & Stride is taking place on the 11 September and our churches will be registered for participants to visit. The event is organised by Sussex Historic Churches Trust. Ride & Stride encourages walkers and cyclists to get sponsored to visit Churches/Chapels across the county and Hampshire too.

Any money raised is split between Sussex historic churches, chapels and meeting houses and your local Church. Would you be interested in riding or walking to explore local churches on Saturday 11 September or welcoming people to Westbourne during the day?
