News and events

Return of the Chalice - The wine has been re-introduced at all communion services for those who wish to partake. At 09.30am, when we can, we will have a communion station in the north aisle, as well as centrally.  Anybody who prefers for the moment to receive the bread only, simply return to your seat without visiting the chalice assistant.  We ask people not to drink from the chalice if they have a cold or fever.

The Westbourne Magazine for July is available today.

Summer Fete – Saturday 23 July 2022, 12 noon until 3.00pm. Thank you to all have already offered to help in a variety of ways. We still need more helpers, both on the day and in advance. Please contact churchwarden Angie (377825) with new offers of help for the fete.

Songs for Summer – Saturday 23 July 2022 at 7.00pm – Save the Date. Professional soprano Alison Pearce will give a recital, accompanied at the piano by Stewart Taylor. The programme, which will last approximately an hour, will include songs to suit all tastes from the classical and romantic repertoire. Wine and soft drinks will be available.

Living in Love and Faith course - for five Tuesdays from this Tuesday:
5 July, 7pm. Venue: the Parish Hall. Please sign the sheet to join, or contact the Rector directly so that we can plan as to numbers. The course examines issues of relationship and identity, sexuality and marriage, from a variety of different insights, and within a framework of Christian understanding.

Yearning to read a lesson at 09.30am service? Please offer to the Rector, who would welcome a wider range of readers.

Intercessions: it would be lovely to have two or three more people to lead intercessions. It's about speaking to God on all our behalves and is a wonderful opportunity to gather one's thoughts and to express these.  If you think you might like to consider doing this please contact either of the Churchwardens or Marjorie. We are hoping to host a training day in which to consider and develop this ministry for existing intercessors and those who may be interested to take up the role.

50/50 Draw: The winning numbers for the month of June are as follows: 1st - No 33, 2nd - No. 21 and 3rd - No. 32.
