Collect for the Second Sunday after Trinity

Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth: send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you.  Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ’s sake.  Amen

For our prayers (please contact the Churchwardens to add names):

  • For the needs of the world, especially at this time of global pandemic;

  • For all who have been and continue to be affected by the pandemic;

  • For Elizabeth our Queen and all set in authority under her;

  • For all those known to us who are unwell: that God will bring them healing and wholeness;

  • For those as they prepare for their weddings;

  • For the families of those who have died; remembering especially the family and friends of Janet Joyner

  • For Andrew and Karen

New Hymn  Today we introduce another new hymn from our hymn book, No. 553 – Touch the earth lightly. Readers of music might find it useful to have a hymn book with the melody included - just ask one of the sidespersons.

Westbourne Magazine  The deadline for copy for the July Magazine is this coming Tuesday, 15 June 2021. The Editors are always keen to hear from new contributors, as well as all those who write regularly or occasionally.  Articles of general interest are welcome, particularly at present when there are few activities and events happening that we can publicise.

Christian Aid Week 2021 was indeed a great success!  Money from the envelopes returned, from the Plant Sale (including generous aftersales), from donations known to have gone direct to Christian Aid and estimated Gift Aid, the people of Westbourne and neighbours raised over £4,000. THANK YOU!

Calligraphy for our Memorial Book.  Are you a calligrapher or do you know somebody who is?  The Wardens are looking for someone to update our Memorial Book.

If there are causes or people that you wish to bring to the attention of the Church and its praying community, please contact the Churchwardens.
